Remote desktop connection client for mac

Nov 12, 2013  Is it possible to transfer files between host and client computer using Microsoft Remote Desktop version 8 on a Mac? Either by drag-and-drop or copy/paste. It is not possible to copy any files from a remote Win OS to Finder in Mac OS nor to a Win VM. When connecting to remote desktop with RDP protocol from Mac View Client, it'll use the high image quality as default for RDC connection. The MS RDC app is a very old app, there isn't new version for so long time and there isn't any updates to improve the performance that specific to new Windows OS (Win8/8.1/2012). For Mac users, the stalwart tool has been the Microsoft Remote Desktop connection. Available now through the Mac App store, it allows users to remotely connect to a Windows desktop to access local. For a small project here making an instruction manual for some very non-technical users to show them how to connect in remotely using Remote Desktop Connection, I wanted to do a small section for the Mac users with illustrations. Nov 28, 2006  The Remote Desktop Connection 6.0 client can be used to connect to legacy terminal servers or to remote desktops as before. However, the new features that are mentioned in this article are available only when the remote computer is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008.

I am connecting to a Windows XP machine via Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection Client, version 2.0.0 Beta 3, running on a Mac. On the Windows machine there is a Java console running, where I want to send a Ctrl-Break so I can see the Java threads running.

According to the RDC help, Alt/Option-F3 is break, but Ctrl-Opt-F3 and various other combinations do not have an effect.

Any ideas on how to send a Ctrl-Break?

I don't know if this help anyone, but i was trying to debug a vba project and had this same problem. That is how i ended up here to begin with. I used the 'On-Screen Keyboard' in Accessories->Accessibility

Hope this helps someone.

Ctrl-Alt-End doesn't work on a macbook: no End key. The 'On-Screen Keyboard' did the trick though. Thanks!

Still would like to see a way to send Ctrl-Break from a Mac Book Pro to a Windows machine via RDP for Mac. Trying the default key assignment (Option-F3) doesn't work and re-assigning the key doesn't seem to work either. If anybody has successfully sent a Ctrl-Break using the RDP client on a Mac, I'd love to hear how you did it. Google searches have been fruitless so far.

I needed to send a BREAK (which on my laptop is FN+Page Down) - this was to break VBA code running in Excel. When RDPing from a Mac I used fn+F14 - got this via trial and error.

In Mac • To start with, Duplicate the.qbb file to your file folder. Install quickbooks pro 2015. • Then input a title for a restored document. • Then click OK.

Major Doubt

I have one doubt. App is pretty good, problem is when I am taking remote of my Windows machine after working on that, I usually quit this app. After that when mannually I go to that Windows machine, all opened apps are getting closed, nothing is opened now. So on windows I loose all my data which was not saved. Any hint here how after taking remote from this app, and finishing it, apps on windows should remain in its previous state?

Not working properly after recent upgrade

Microsoft Remote Vm Connection Client For Mac

Before the recent upgrade, everything was working perfect. Now after the recent upgrade, when I am openin up any RDP session, it’s opening up in the same virtual desktop (earlier it used to be in a different virtual desktop). So that we can switch between the virtual desktop using 3 fingers swipe. Now, it’s now scaling well and worst part is that after connecting, I have to click on full screen mode which is scalling the window and then do a full screen which is opening up in a different virtual desktop but that’s a work around. Are you planning to fix this?

Imporvements Needed!

Hi,
this is cerntainly a good app on MacOS and i am using it from past 1.5 years.
I want following features in it to make it 5 start app;
1. In full screen remote destop mode i am not able to get which VM or remote desktop i have connected on the fly. For this i need to click on Windows menu of the Remote Desktop app. Please make a provision to display hostname or remote desktop name some where on the screen if user presses some key combination, etc.
2. I am also want a feature of creating folders in the Remote Desktop main window and arrange my remote desktops in it as per its category like HyperV VMs, VMWare VMs, etc.
3. Easy to take backup and restore of saved remote desktop’s.
Thanks in advance.
